The BJP’s state unit says that the effort is not only a big step towards environmental protection, but also a powerful initiative towards a clean Delhi.
It is said that with the completion of this work of installing solar panels, there could be a saving of Rs 50 crore annually, and also a reduction in CO2 emissions of about 46,000 tonnes.
As per reports, the project is in line with the solar policy, as per which the government buildings with areas more than 500 square meters will have solar panels on their roofs.
Notably, with the use of solar systems for generating electricity, there is no fuel burnt, in contrast to traditional power plants.
The state unit of the saffron party has also appreciated the increase in the use of electric buses in the national capital, which contributes to a cleaner environment.
Notably, the Delhi government is now working to run more electric buses, not only within the city, but also on the inter-state routes.
The electric buses from Delhi will be connecting the national capital to places in states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and others.
